From the Edge is based at the 25 Spaces workshop, deep in the heart of the Hyde Park area of Leeds. It was inspired by all the enthusiasm, skill and energy of music makers in this lively and diverse area.

We cut one-off records using a nifty piece of German machinery. These dubplates are very high quality: their lifetimes are thousands of plays. We don't use soft laquers or acetate, a heated diamond stylus is used to cut into the hard PVC record blanks that we use. Two finely engineered cutting heads transfer the audio signal to this stylus and we keep the filtering of the sound to a minimum, only correcting what we need to to get a good cut.

We try to keep the music sounding as you sent it to us, and we cut it as loud as we can so that you can amp it up without feedback problems.
